Mathematical Board Games for Classroom Use and Paired Maths

This workshop/hands-on type, low stress course will enable participants to make 15-20 maths games for classroom use and/or Paired Maths using photocopiable resources from tutors own book. New material not included in the book will be available at the course. The strands covered are Number, Measure, Shape and Space. This game based approach to teaching Maths has an emphasis on Numeracy, learning and teaching through play (using highly coloured concrete materials), and parental involvement. The games appeal to the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learner through the use of colour, language and action. The course is suitable for teachers of J/S Infants and First Class.
