 What is Clicker?

 

Clicker is a writing support and multimedia tool for children of all abilities and people with special needs.  It can be used to support teaching in any subject area, and it's easy to use.  It has a talking word-processor, called Clicker Writer, and you can write on this without using the keyboard- simply click on words in the on-screen Clicker Grid.  You can also listen to the words before you write!   Clicker 5 makes it easy to create an engaging variety of learning activities.  The programme also offers a facility to use full screen Clicker Grids for a variety of uses, such as talking books, multimedia presentations, and labelling activities.  It comes with high- quality picture support to assist you make useful and interactive teaching materials. You can also create your own picture library using your own digital photographs its realistic speech support reinforces learning and enables effective language and literacy learning. During the two-hour session you will be given an overview of the following Clicker functions:

 

  • Bookmaking
  • Labelling
  • Classifying
  • Phrases
  • Sentence Building
  • Word Banks

 

A range of completed projects for you to examine will supplement the interactive presentation. In addition, samples of programmes from learning grids will be available.  Following this event, an opportunity to enrol for a step by step Clicker training programme will be provided.
