Using dynamic mathematics software to support the teaching of Strands 3, 4 and 5 of the post-primary mathematics curriculum.
The aim of the "ICT & Maths, Part 2" course is to enable teachers to use ICT and mathematics software to support the teaching of Strands 3, 4 and 5 of the post-primary mathematics curriculum. Designed by the Project Maths Development Team in collaboration with NCTE the course is the second in a series of ICT & Maths courses on the use of free dynamic mathematics software to support the teaching of Strand 3 (Number), Strand 4 (Algebra) and Strand 5 (Functions).
The course is accompanied by a support wiki which contains exemplars of ICT for mathematics including the use of digital projectors, visualisers and demonstrations of how ICT applications and equipment can be used in learning and teaching. Teachers are encouraged to work collaboratively and create and share interactive resources on the wiki.
Duration The course is modular and 7.5 hours in total (3 sessions of 2.5 hours duration each)
