This session is an introduction to using cognitive strategies to alleviate the experience of anxiety in children and young people with ASD. This will include an introduction to the theory of cognitive behaviour therapy and some strategies that are recognised as effective in helping
children and young people cope with their anxiety.This session is most suitable for parents of older children and young adults with Asperger's
syndrome who already have a good understanding of ASD.
Learning outcomes:
* an understanding of cognitive strategies
* some strategies that may be useful.
