PDST - Child Protection Guidelines Workshop

Children First, National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children, 2011  was issued by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs in July 2011. In September 2011 the DES issued revised Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools, in addition to Circular 0065/2011 outlining the Child Protection requirements for schools.

PDST will provide a two-hour (evening) information workshop on Child Protection in Carrick on Shannon Education Centre. The purpose of the information workshop is to provide a brief update on the revised Children First and DES Procedures. Attendance at the evening information workshop is open to all DLPs / Deputy DLPs who wish to be briefed on the key points of information and responsibilities of the DLP in light of the new DES Child Protection Procedures and revised Children First Guidance document. We strongly advise attendance at the workshop in order to become familiar with the requirements on schools in the area of Child Protection.
