RSE

The RSE Support Service is offering two evenings of RSE training for teachers of Fourth to Sixth class this term.  It will be the same training course as the one that took place in Spring and Autumn 2011.

NB. If a teacher has attended one of the RSE evening courses for teachers over the last three years he/she should be aware that the afternoon courses will cover much of the same material.

The training will include:

• An overview of RSE as an aspect of SPHE
• The role and function of an RSE policy
• Methodologies for teaching RSE from 4^th to 6^th Class
• Creating a safe classroom environment

Participants are asked to bring along their own copy of "Resource Materials for Relationships & Sexuality Education, 5^th & 6^th Classes"

Schools are invited to nominate one or two teachers to attend the training.  It is necessary for the same teacher/s to attend on both days.  The groups will be limited to 25 participants and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  Priority will be given to ensuring that as many schools as possible send at least one teacher; if places are available a second teacher will be accommodated.
