The FÍS Project

Where to in 2010?

The FÍS project as a very effective methodology for the
 cross-curricular approach to integrating ICT.

This approach which underpins all aspects of the primary curriculum, WILL proceed in 2010.

FÍS has been overwhelmingly praised by teachers and children involved and other agencies such as NCCA & PPDS as one of the most effective strategies for ICT integration.

Who can participate?

All existing FÍS schools

Any school that wishes to submit a short film (Max. 5 min.)

So what do you do if you wish to participate?

• 1. Indicate your interest to Carrick on Shannon Education Centre (via e-mail) This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it stating that you will/may submit a film for FÍS 2010 & whether or not you may be interested in a support night.

• 2. Begin working on a short film (If there is sufficient interest expressed Carrick on Shannon Education Centre will organise a support evening for teachers or schools interested in participating).

• 3. The closing date for submitting films will be 25^th June 2010. This year, schools will be asked to upload their films to a website. Full details and instructions will be available soon on www.fis.ie. If schools are interested in qualifying for the FIS Film, there are certain criteria to follow but all of this will be available on the site.

A Regional screening will be held in Carrick on Shannon to show and select FIS entries for the National FIS Film Festival in October/November 2010
