Making the most of Mathigon - A Resource that will make Maths Playful, Interactive and Fun in your Classroom (P)
Target Audience: Primary teachers of all ages both in mainstream and special education.
This webinar aims to support teachers bringing the new Primary Maths Curriculum to life in their classroom. A central theme of the new Primary Maths Curriculum is that it encourages teachers to adopt playful and cognitively challenging tasks for their students. Mathigon serves an excellent visual resource which brings the traditional “textbook” approach to the subject to life. This extremely diverse and user-friendly digital tool is loved by students and serves as an excellent stimulus for promoting maths talk and discussion.
In partaking in this practical and interactive session, teachers will be exposed to the endless possibilities of Mathigon as a teaching aid. Rory will demonstrate how it can be used across all strands of the curriculum and how open-ended tasks and problem-solving questions can be utilised. Mathigon truly is “The textbook of the future”.
