This course equips primary and secondary school Secretaries with crucial skills in Excel, Google Docs, and efficient emailing. Participants learn to optimise administrative tasks through Excel’s formulas and functions, master Google Docs for collaborative document management and enhance email productivity.
The course delves into GDPR compliance, highlighting data privacy best practices and the responsible handling of personal information in a school context. Through interactive, in-person sessions, participants gain practical insights to elevate their efficiency and ensure compliance in their administrative roles.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate Proficiency: Efficiently use Excel formulas, Google Docs features, and email organisation techniques in school administrative tasks, resulting in streamlined workflows and improved document management.
- Implement GDPR Guidelines: Apply GDPR principles to handle personal data appropriately within school administrative processes, ensuring compliance and safeguarding sensitive information.

Bio of presenter:
Fiona is a seasoned consultant and lecturer, specializing in change, project and knowledge management, decision-making & problem-solving, leadership, strategy, design-thinking and enterprise innovation. She currently shares her expertise with the Centre of Project Management at University of Limerick, UCD’s Professional Academy and Tangent, Trinity’s Ideas Workspace at Trinity College Dublin.
Drawing from her early career background as an Executive Assistant to a multinational organisation’s CEO, she integrates this practical experience into her teaching and consulting work today. By harnessing the latest in digital technology, Fiona drives enhanced efficiency and productivity in today’s workplace landscape.
Recent projects include:
- The design of a global leadership programme and training for a team leaders in a multinational insurance company
- Strategy design for a leading Irish micro-finance banking organisation.
- Innovation projects with Sport Ireland organisations
- Facilitation of ‘Women in Business’ focus groups and workshops for government enterprise agencies
Qualifications include:
- MA in Professional Practice with Technological University Dublin
- Train the Trainer (Distinction) from DCM Learning
- PG Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise Development (Distinction) from Trinity College Dublin.
