Bio – Philip Griffin

With 18 years of experience in teaching Geography and History, I have had the privilege of working across three different countries, enriching my educational practice and broadening my pedagogical approach. My expertise spans various curricula, including the Leaving Certificate, Junior Certificate, International Baccalaureate (IB), A-levels, and IGCSE. Throughout my career, I have developed a diverse skill set focused on effective teaching strategies, particularly in formative assessment, questioning techniques, retrieval practice, and differentiation. My commitment to professional development is reflected in my role as Head of Geography at the British International School in Shanghai, where I successfully delivered a range of CPD sessions, as well as at the Nord Anglia Regional Conference in Guangzhou. I hold an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management, an MA in Military History and Strategic Studies, and a BA with double Honors in Geography and History. Additionally, I achieved First Class Honors in both my PGDE and my Teaching Practice from University College Dublin (UCD). My passion for education drives me to continually refine my teaching approaches and support fellow educators in enhancing their instructional practices for the benefit of all students.
