Addressing the Challenges: Support for teachers working in SEN - 23SU03

Organised by Carrick on Shannon Education Centre and in conjunction with local ILSA members, this course will provide participants with the latest approaches to responding to SEN challenges in schools. There will be a different facilitator each day finishing with a sharing of ideas workshop on Friday.

Day 2 - Catriona Hanmore - Senior Sp/Lang Therapist. CAMHS, Sligo
Day 3 - Edmond Scannell - 24 years teaching experience, Acting, Principal, eTutor and NEPS facilitator
Day 4 - Aiofe Munroe - PhD student and lecturer in MIC Limerick. Working in ASD                                                         Day 5 - Bernie Kemple - Retired Primary Teacher. Worked in SEN. For 20 years.  M.ED Level 9

Note: Closing date for registration on all courses is 3pm on Friday 23rd June 2023.

Important Points to Note for Participants of our Face-to-Face Summer Courses 2023

  • All courses run from 9.30am-2.00pm every day.
  • A minimum number of participants is required in order for a course to proceed. Maximum capacity is 25 on face-to-face summer courses.
  • Full attendance is required to be awarded 3 EPV days.
  • 2 EPV days will be awarded for 4 days attendance.
  • 1 EPV day will be awarded for 3 days attendance. (Regardless of the reason for the absence).
  • No EPV days will be awarded for less than 3 days attendance.
  • Lunch break is from 11.30-12.00 each day and a light lunch will be provided each day.

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees. The course fee can only be refunded if the Education Centre cancels the course.
