Ready to build your confidence in speaking and teaching Irish? Gaeilge: Caint, Comhrá agus Craic 2026 is a fun, supportive summer course designed to boost your conversational Gaeilge and refresh your classroom practice.

Return to school in September with new ideas, fresh energy and real confidence!

Gaeilge: Caint, Comhrá agus Craic 2026 is a practical and engaging summer course designed for teachers who want to build confidence in speaking and teaching Irish. Delivered in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment, this course focuses on improving everyday conversational Gaeilge while providing practical classroom resources and sample lessons. Participants will return to school in September with renewed confidence, fresh ideas, and a resource pack to support effective Gaeilge teaching.

The course is free of charge (€50 deposit to secure a place which will be refunded on competition of the course).

Facilitator - Karen Brogan has been designing, delivering and facilitating Literacy workshops, Summer In-service and Teacher Professional Communities, encompassing Gaeilge and all aspects of Literacy, in conjunction with Education Centres, for a number of years. Currently a mainstream class teacher in Kilglass NS, she has taught in a small school, multi-class setting, in Gaelsoileanna and has worked as a shared SET. Karen was seconded to PDST for 8 years as a Literacy and Gaeilge Advisor and is a First Steps Tutor in Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening. She is passionate about Literacy and Language and providing practical approaches  for teachers in their classroom context.  

To enrol on any of our courses: -

Step 1: To book a place on any of our summer courses teachers must be registered on our website www.carrickedcentre.ie  

Step 2: Log in and use our online booking system.

Note: Closing date for registration on all courses is 3pm on Friday 19th June 2026.

Important Points to Note for Participants of our Face-to-Face Summer Courses 2026.

• All courses run from 9.30am-2.00pm every day.
• A minimum number of 10 participants is required in order for a course to proceed. Maximum capacity is 25 on face-to-face summer courses.
• Full attendance is required to be awarded 3 EPV days.
• 2 EPV days will be awarded for 4 days attendance.
• 1 EPV day will be awarded for 3 days attendance. (Regardless of the reason for the absence).
• No EPV days will be awarded for less than 3 days attendance.
• Lunch break is from 11.30-12.00 each day and a light lunch will be provided each day.

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable unless stated otherwise. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees unless stated otherwise. The course fee can only be refunded if the Education Centre cancels the course or is a free course and the deposit will be returned on completion of the full course.
