
Audience: Primary Principal's, Middle Management, Primary Teachers, Primary SNAs.
This workshop will cover the planning requirements of teachers in an Autism Special class including SSPs, short term and long term planning.This workshop comes with planning exemplars, templates and a comprehensive resource pack. The workshop will also examine the use of AI to support planning and target setting.
Bio - Samantha has been a primary school teacher for 17 years. In these years of teaching she has held the positions of Deputy Principal and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. Samantha has also held the teaching roles of ASD Special Class Teacher, SET and Mainstream Teacher. Samantha had previously worked as an Advisor and Associate with the Special Education Support Service and the NCSE. During this time she delivered training and support to schools along with creating course content and resources for the service. In addition to her work with senconsultant.ie , Samantha works with Hibernia College as a School Placement Tutor, mentoring student teachers and grading teaching practice placements.
- Learning Outcome 1 - Exploration of Curricular planning requirements, thematic planning, the MGLD curriculum and national curriculum including templates and tools to plan.
- Learning Outcome 2 - Overview of the Writing SSPs and SMART targets – examples with tools and resources to support writing targets and strategies.
- Learning Outcome 3 - Examine the Using AI for planning – chat gpt overview.
- Learning Outcome 4 - Exploration of Fortnightly planning and the CM monthly report – templates provided.
