Boundaries & Saying No - 25LCAU23 (Facilitator Calodagh McCumiskey)

In the fast-paced and ever-demanding world of education, boundaries are essential but often overlooked. Whether you're a teacher, school leader, or SNA, saying “yes” to too much can lead to burnout, frustration and imbalance. This practical session explores the importance of healthy boundaries in maintaining professional and personal wellbeing, building respectful relationships, and staying focused on what matters most. Learn how to say “no” with confidence and kindness, and create the space you need to thrive in life and work.. The session is grounded in real world experience and offers immediately applicable strategies to enhance your school community.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Teachers and education staff will develop a deeper understanding of personal and professional boundaries, and why they are essential for long-term wellbeing and effectiveness.
  2. Participants will gain practical strategies for saying “no” assertively and respectfully.
  3. Educators / participants will be equipped to recognise their limits, manage expectations, and prioritise their time and energy without guilt.
